This paper primarily explores the implications brought about by a rising India for China. India has started its reform agenda and "new economy" policy since 1991, and has obtained remarkable achievements in the areas of economy, politics, military as well as international leverage. The paper analyzes not only the advantages and the disadvantages during the process, but also the diplomatic strategy which India has used. The author believes India's aspirations bring about both opportunities and challenges to China.In the Sino-Indian bilateral relations, as a result of active geopolitics, China and India have made great improvements. The exchange of high-level visits has intensified, and people-to-people interactions considerably increased during the past decade. But for China, the rising of India has created complicated effects, both positive and negative ones. To be general, both cooperation and competition will continue to characterize the ongoing and future Sino-Indian relations. The competition between China and India will be omni-directional, involving economy, politics, culture, diplomacy, and energy security.
