Since 2013, Xi Jinping proposed the initiative of construction of "Silk Road Economic Belt" during a visit to Kazakhstan, and also proposed the initiative of construction of "twenty-first Century Maritime Silk Road" in a speech in Indonesia Congress, and the ideas are called the "The Belt and Road, now have been as the national development strategy, put into practice, achieved remarkable achievements,brought many opportunities to the development of neighboring countries, and had a positive impact on the international situation.As the no negligible country along the line of the "The Belt and Road" and one of the most important neighboring countries, India pay attention to the domestic development since independence, has become one of the most rapid economic development in developing countries. India with rapid economic development and China have many similarities, have broad prospects for cooperation, but the existence of many disputes and the competition is hindering the further cooperation between the two countries. Under this background, the initiative of "The Belt and Road" provides many opportunities for the Sino Indian cooperation including politics, economic and culture, but the fact that can not be ignored is that the challenges also exist, whether India's distrust or China's itself risks or the interference of traditional factors and the United States factors. So "The Belt and Road" can not go smoothly in the process of the Sino-India cooperation.Looking ahead to Sino Indian cooperation under the background of "The Belt and Road initiative", opportunities and challenges exist together. In the short term,India and China have more competition than cooperation, but in the long run, with further development of the "The Belt and Road" initiative, the Sino Indian cooperation is an inevitable trend. This thesis consists of five chapters, the first chapter is "the overview of The Belt and Road" strategy and home and abroad research about Sino Indian cooperation, the second chapter introduces connotation of the "The Belt and Road" initiative, analyze the background of initiative, and expound the basis and significance of the cooperation between China and India. Thenext three, four, five chapter is the main part of this paper, they do a detailed analysis on "The Belt and Road" under the background of Sino Indian cooperation from three aspects, the opportunity, challenge and Prospect. The third chapter shows great opportunities of bilateral cooperation due to "The Belt and Road" strategy from three aspect, the political, economic and cultural analysis, at the same time the fourth chapter points out that Sino Indian cooperation under the background of "The Belt and Road" is also facing many interference factors, including aspects of India and China itself, traditional disputes and the United States. Finally, the fifth chapter carries on a future prospects for cooperation between China and India, and gets the conclusion that the short-term competition is dominant, but in the long run the Sino Indian cooperation is an inevitable trend, and puts forward some countermeasures to solve the challenge of cooperation between China and India under the background of "Belt and Road Initiative".
