On Socialist Political Civilization With Chinese Characteristics And Its Construction

As an important part of the social civilization, political civilization refers to the active social achievements attained in the objective political practices, through which people reconstruct public power relations and social systems. It is a kind of incessantly progressive political living state in which a society has attained equity, democracy and harmony and is divorced from barbarism, autarchy and backwardness. The construction of political civilization has a kind of neural function in the system engineering of the construction of socialist civilization.In the 16th National Congress of Communist Party of China (16th NCCPC), the then president, Jiang Zemin pronounced to the world: "Developing socialist democratic politics and constructing socialist political civilization are the important content and goal of constructing a well-to-do society in an all-round way." The combination of civilization and politics indicates the epoch-making development in the understanding of the modernization goal by the Communist Party of China. Putting forward the concept of "socialist political civilization" is the innovation and development of the theory in Marxist Politics and the grasp of its basic connotation will definitely be helpful to the advancement of socialist political construction practices.Based on the analysis of the scientific connotation of political civilization, this paper analyzes the process in which socialist political civilization has been put forward and conducts a scientific reading of the socialist political civilization at present in our country. The adequate grasp of the above problems conduces to deepening the whole and systematic understanding of socialist political civilization and the ideological understanding of socialist construction and therefore provides reference for the socialist political civilization with Chinese characteristics and its construction.
