A Study On The Ethnic Problems Of Xinjiang In The Big West Development

Ethnic problems are not only the basic problems in Marxism ethnic theory but also are one of the world's universal society problems. In socialism society, ethnic oppression, ethnic discrimination and segregation has been rooted out, but the ethnic problems, due to the unbalanced development between ethnic groups and the ethnic differences, still exist. Therefore, how to realize and solve these problems in socialism society is a very important political question concerning our motherland unification and ethnic unity. Especially in Xinjiang, which has vast area and multiple ethnic groups, whether we can seriously study the Marxism ethnic theory, completely carry out our party's line of ethnic policy, correctly handle the relationship among all ethnic groups, is a big question concerning Xinjiang's stability and development. By carrying out the big west development strategy, the central government has given more support to Xinjiang, which has brought the politics, economy and culture of Xinjiang up to a new stage. This provides a more privileged condition to solving Xinjiang's ethnic problems. In this article, Xinjiang' ethnic problems are just discussed under such situation.First, the article illustrates all of our party's guidelines and basic experiences in handling the ethnic problems since the Third Penal of the Eleventh Party Congress. The party's guidelines are: (1) All ethnic groups are all equal regardless of big or small, long history or short, more developed or less. (2) The ethnic differences and problems will exist for a long time. (3) Ethnic problems are one of the parts of social general problems. The basic experiences are: (1) Ethnic problems and work must be highlighted. (2) Ethnic problems must be handled practically. (3) The economy of ethnic groups area must be developed greatly. (4) The party's ethnic policy must be carried out completely. (5) We must have a broad view and great patience in handling the problems. (6) Based on the Xinjiang's real situation, more efforts must be put on the anti-separatism and anti-penetration, and on the combat against the ethnic separatism and illegal religious activities.Second, the article introduces the current situation of Xinjiang's ethnic problems in the process of developing west, and the great leap of west politics, economy, and culture.
