With some authoritarianism countries development in economy, society and political reformation, authoritarianism research has become keystone and hot topic being paid attention to by scholars who research political theory. Since twentieth century and eight decades, Chinese scholars have made great progress in authoritarianism research, especially about Latin America and south-eastern Asia countries and regions. Research on democratic politics is an everlasting topic in political field, and also is a youthful field forever. The thesis focuses on the reasons for the democratic politics' failure in early republic of China period, and tries to provide reference for Chinese modern political development by combining authoritarianism with democratic politics. The frame of the thesis is as follows.Firstly, the thesis introduces cause of subject selection, research background, research object and research methods, etc. Also, it defines some basic concepts and specifies some theories, which establishes the thesis theory base.Secondly, the thesis describes the relationship between authoritarianism and democratic politics. Based on theory hypothesis, the thesis puts forward that some basic elements needed by democratic politics development exist in authoritarianism, which constitutes democratic politics' initial elements. Under the authoritarianism, it cultivates the basic elements of democratic politics. If democratic power under authoritarianism is cultivated effectively, authoritarianism transforming into democratic politics may succeed. And finally, it can be realized to force democratic politics development by authoritarianism's power.Thirdly, based on the theory hypothesis that authoritarianism is regarded as the transformation shape, the thesis prospects the political reality in early republic of China period. The thesis proves from negative that democratic elements will not burden the institution frame of the whole democratic politics development if they have not cultivated effectively, democratic elements will wane with authoritarianism power expanding gradually. And by historical political practice, theory hypothesis is proved to be reasonable.Finally, the thesis summarizes key elements, and analyzes the failure reasons of authoritarianism transformation into democratic politics in early republic of China period from some aspects, such as economical base, military autarchy, and traditional political culture.
