After the Cold War, inter-State relations of Northeast Asia were undergoing complex changes. For China and the United States, a larger change and the basic fact is that the post-Cold War era alliance relationship has been strengthened, the partnership initiated by China has been further developed. Currently, the basic characteristics of Northeast Asia region are: national forces are regrouping, the new structure remains unclear, the Cold War mentality still exists, the lack of political and security mutual trust on the Korean Peninsula and the regional hot issues of Taiwan Strait go on all the time, and non-traditional security situation should not be overlooked, etc.The second part specifies China's security policy towards Northeast Asia area, assuming that Chinese Northeast Asia regional security policy is an important component of the Asia-Pacific security strategy. It also advocates that a new security concept, safeguard regional security and the implementation of rising peacefully, in order to build a harmonious world philosophy, and develop Sino-Russian strategic partnership of cooperation, strengthen the Korean Peninsula and Mongolia, and the positive development of relations with the United States and Japan. The third part summarizes America's security policies towards Northeast Asia area. Firstly, it explores the reasons why the U.S.-Japan alliance and the U.S.-South Korea alliance were strengthened and the impacts; Secondly, regarding Sino-U.S. relations, due to the volatility of U.S. strategy relations between the two countries were full of twists and turns. In addition, the United States has adjusted its policies towards Russia and Mongolia and actively involved in the Korean Peninsula as well as the Taiwan Strait area. The fourth part focuses on the positive and negative impacts of the US' Northeast Asia policy and China's role in Northeast Asia regional security. Finally, the paper arrives at a conclusion that the objective of US' policies is to maintain its leading position and the huge national interests and to suppress any challenging country to emerge whereas the rise of China, and China's wish to safeguard regional peace, stability and security through coordination and cooperation will not pose any threats to US' leading positionAlthough the two countries have different policies, they all hope to search for the best balance subject to their respective national interests and, achieve regional peace, stability and security . In the interactive process of the two countries' policies, they are both competitors and collaborators; not only there are stakeholders, there are also complex relations. China and the United States are the most influential powers in the regional security of Northeast Asia, whose future and destiny will be controlled by both countries in a fairly long period of time and considerable extent. This is surely to have profound impacts on the current security situation and the future of Northeast Asian region.
