"Great Europe"-the Identity Started European Integration

In the tide of economic globalization, the district cooperation is widely prevailed. The European integration developed variously in many ways, from economic realm to the realm of politics, culture, diplomacy and even law. Europe is inclining to become a close system. As a successful case of integration, it is valuable to research in the cause of European integration.The thesis tries to analyze the importance of values identity in the process of starting European integration. Compared to the researches which emphasize the identity to nation or to Europe, I pay more attention on the promotion of values identity in European integration. In the chapterl and chapter2,I expatiated the issue and significance of the paper. In the Chapter3, I focused on how strategic culture constructs the identity of "Great Europe". In the chapter4, the identity of "Great Europe" promoted the European integration. In the Chapter 5, I sum up the experiences of European integration, and it gave a lot of illuminations to integration of East Asia.The thesis aims to explain the significance of values identity. Postwar European nations recognized that the only way to strengthen nation is the European integration. And due to this values identity of "Great Europe", European countries started the European integration.
