Study On The Functions Of Non-Governmental Organizations In The Construction Of A Harmonious Society

The goal and task of constructing the socialist harmonious society is to solve the unharmonious problems in the present society. The non-governmental organizations which are formed by and deeply rooted in the people are a objective necessity in constructing the harmonious society due to its characteristics such as organized, folk, non-profit, autonomous and voluntary nature. They can play an important role in many aspects like building democracy and laws, promoting justice, enhancing trust and kindness, keeping vigor, maintaining stability and order, strengthening a harmonious relationship between human and the nature, etc. The effective ways of its better functioning are to cooperate with the government, to call on the public to join in voluntarily, to participate in the construction of the harmonious society and to take advantage of the internet. Although non-governmental organizations contain great potential in constructing the socialist harmonious society, frankly speaking, the non-governmental organizations in China are still powerless and incapable, and most of them are in a spontaneous, loose and irregular state. This is caused by many reasons, for example, social systems, social values, the immature nature of the Chinese non-governmental organizations and their inborn limitations and so on. These issues need us to take corresponding measures to get improved.
