Study On The Culture Change Of Miao In Western Hunan

From modern times on, with the wave of industrialization and the opening of global markets, the cultural contacts and interactions are more and more frequent. They are among different nations, different regions and different cultural groups. The collisions, conflicts and communications between each national culture have quickly become a worldwide phenomenon. In the process of globalization, how to adapt to the tide of history without losing national identity? How to promote the cultural communications and co-prosperity? These issues have quickly become the focus of academia.In the long span of history, in order to live and develop, the ancestors of the Miao nationality who tenaciously struggled one after another, has created the splendid history and unique culture with their blood and sweat. In the history, the ruling classes always took Miao as the savage people and took the brutal oppression policy on it, so the people of the Miao suffered for a long time and the whole nation is constantly migrating. During the constantly migrating, Miao not only maintains and enriches their own culture, but also affect other nationalities, at the same time they absorbed the culture of other nations and finally formed the splendid culture which is still full of vigor and vitality. After entering the modern society, the traditional Miao culture still retain in the social life of the Miao, and it load the value tropism of Miao and affect its production mode and lifestyle.Along with the development of society, the change of its system, the deepening of reform and opening and the promotion of the modern economic globalization, the communications between the outside world and the Miao society, which is originally uncultured and close, become more and more frequent. The visible or invisible variances are taken place in the every aspects of its national culture. To describe these issues of cultural variance and find out the deep reasons of these variances, and to analyze and discuss the impacts which are brought to the development of the social culture of Miao society in Western Hunan by the variances, have become an important research topic of modern Miao culture. They are also the important subject which has practical significance in the development of economy and culture of the Western Hunan area. Starting with the concept of culture and culture change, we laid the theoretical basis of this paper. then we deeply analyzed the main factors that decide and effect the culture of Miao in Western Hunan coming into being, such as the natural environment, the economic basis and the social history conditions, fully described the contents of Miao culture in Western Hunan on the material level, the institutional level and spirit levels, preliminarily discussed the stages and reasons of culture variance, finally evaluated the historical and realistic value of the Miao culture in Western Hunan, gave the problems that Miao culture encounter in the process of modernization, and provided some proposals and countermeasures on the development of the culture. We hope that the above aspects which were comprehensively expounded and explored can make people have a preliminary cognition and understanding about the Miao culture in Western Hunan, and we also hope this study can make up the deficiencies of the research about the culture variance of the Miao culture in Western Hunan and played an active role in the development of the economy and culture of the contemporary Miao society.
