Political Value Under Political Philosophy

In recent years, with the transition from a socialist planned economy to a socialist market economy in China, the values people adhere to on economy, politics and cultural are judged and freshened by a new social practice. Research on political values is helpful to shape the political form adapted to the successful transition of society and concerned about the future and destiny of the nation.Focusing its study point on constructing the political value system under the condition of China's socialist market economy, and basing on the large number of data collections, the thesis analyzes the theoretical system of political values and discusses the relationships between the building of political civilization, the construction of a harmonious society and the formation of the political value system, aiming at establishing a new political value system suitable for the actual situation in China.The thesis consists of four parts. The first chapter defines the concepts and nature of politics, values, political philosophy and political values on the base of analysis and comparison, in which the characteristics, nature and functions of political value are discussed most detailedly. The second chapter employs the political values as the main clue, takes historical consideration on the political values pursed by Chinese and westerners from ancient to modern times, and finally summarizes the relevant laws. The third chapter mainly discusses the scope of the political value system, analyzes the connotations of such political values as human rights, freedom and equality, fairness and justice, democracy and the rule of law, etc, and sums up the relationship between them. On the basis of summing up the foregoing, the fourth chapter proposes that during the process of establishing a socialist market economy in China, the building of socialist political civilization should be considered as the "the ultimate aim" of constructing Chinese political value system, meanwhile, takes building a harmonious society as the form of political value system and the criteria for judging.
