The professionalization of judges is a basic character for a country with an adequate legal system, an essential route to a government by law, and the only choice for a country to construct the judge troops. With the progress in governing by law, China has come to meet the necessity of judge's professionalization. Theorists and practical realisms have profound researches on this issue, providing important references for us. But most of these researchers regard all judges in China as a whole, an ideal whole; there is a lack of research about differences between judges in courts of first instance and those in the appeal examines, and also between judges in countryside basic unit courts and city ones. In reality, these aspects are of great importance. "Many kind-hearted and royal jurists cannot imagine that even the most necessary and fully reasonable judicial reforms may take much difficulty to Chinese basic unit courts." This is a critical conclusion, which we can find many examples to confirm. As we know, this is the result of advocating unified judicial reform patterns with no regard of differences among different realities. Should the judicial reformers take into account the differences mentioned above, especially consider those judges in rural areas? This article intends to, from the angle of a judge in a basic unit court, discuss the possible ways of professionalization of judges in countryside basic unit courts, wishing to provide some references to the construction of judge's professionalization. Because of the author's experience and present position in the unit, when collecting some materials, some "power resource" was used. And some materials may be a bit private, so they are quoted only when they are badly needed. And true names and addresses are not used. What the author quotes is only some facts, not some behind-the-scenes plottings. They are only needed as evidence and basis of the topics discussed in the article.
