Central Asia, which links Asia in the East to Europe in the West, is called the heart of Euro-Asian continent. In ancient time, it is also the key part of the famous Silk Road and functions as an important transit of commerce and trade between the West and the East. In recent years, however, drug trafficking in the region has become increasingly active, and the region has become one of the transit points and trafficking conduits of Afghanistan drug which flew to various parts of the world, including Russia, China and European countries. Drug trafficking has become a boundless business in Central Asia, imposing threats to security in the various sectors of economy, politics and society, etc. Particularly, the convergence of drug trafficking with the extremely terrorist groups is becoming increasingly tight. It is evident that drug trafficking has become a long-term and stable financial source of the latter. Actually, There are many factors which can be used to explain this phenomenon: From the external perspective, as a neighbour of Central Asia, Afghanistan experienced external invasion and internal war, it is also the biggest opium producer of the world, these all impose profound threats to Central Asia; from the internal perspective, the stagnant economy, weak political situation, involvement of the extremist groups, the corruption and the porous borders of the Central Asian countries are all the causing factors. In the past ten more years, the Central Asian countries devoted a lot of resources to address the increasingly serious drug problem while the international society helped the Central Asian countries a lot. In spite of this, the result is not ideal. The drug problem in this region is still very serious. Certainly, drug problem is not only the internal problem of the Central Asian countries, but also a common problem around the whole world. In other words, how to address the problem is not only a duty of the Central Asian countries, but also of the whole international community. Therefore, the resolution or reduction of the drug problem depends on the common efforts of the all related parts all around the world.
