Farmer workers are a group growing with the deepening of the reform of the economic system in China's cities and towns and have made great contributions to economic growth and city construction of our country. However, farmer workers are in relative weak trend status actually in the cities. They have the characteristics of high mobility, irregular employment, low quality and lacking capability of self-protection and they are marginal people between the city and the countryside. It is, therefore, of great significance to establish and consummate the social security system for them.Firstly, the paper set forth the basic theory about fanner workers social security. Farmer worker's social security present situation is unoptimistic.Finally, the social security system structuring the farmer workers suitable characteristic is brought forward:(1) The elimination of institutional and non-institutional barrier, including: consummating the legislation and the enhancing law enforcement; reforming the present lateral economic ties; displaying government leading role and so on. (2) Carried on the concrete design to the fanner workers social security systems, the request has established farmer worker's injury on job, the medical service, the birth as soon as possible, cares for the aged, the unemployment insurance system and the corresponding society rescues system. (3) The necessary mechanism of the farmer workers social security systems should be strengthened.
