As a cultural movement emergent in the 1960s in Western society, postmodernism initiated a movement of"revolutionary adventures"and"postmodern transition"in the area of cultural production. The dramatic change postmodernism brings has far gone beyond the field of art and literature, and has affected a wide range of areas such as philosophy, psychology, aestheticism, and education. As a component of postmodernism, postmodern aesthetics has reached all walks of life in society. Postmodern aesthetics not only affects people's way of living and thinking, more importantly, it influences people's spiritual world, in particular the value system and its relevance to the young generation.Postmodern aesthetics has greatly influenced the aesthetic system of the young generation, which accordingly brings up new situations and problems. Correspondingly, it is very important to research on this area. This thesis argues that postmodern aesthetics has exerted both positive and negative influence on the value system of young people. Under the influence of postmodern aestheticism, the aesthetic system of the youth has manifested the following characteristics: The mundane aspect of aestheticism, the integration between aestheticism and mundane lives, the pragmatic dimension of aestheticism, and the disappearance of depth in aestheticism.This thesis assumes that human being as the existence of aestheticism, aims to call for humanism and strengthening aesthetic education, to help the youth establish the correct aesthetic value system and pursue aesthetic existence in their lives.The first part of this thesis interprets postmodern aestheticism and the value system of the youth. It discusses the"mingling"of postmodern aestheticism and the aesthetic value system of the youth.The second part analyzes the current situation of the aesthetic value system of the youth. It illustrates how postmodern aesthetics influences the youth's value system in both a negative and positive manner.The last part focuses on the aesthetic education of the youth. It first discusses the alienated situation of the youth's aesthetic value system, and proposes a theoretical construction from the perspective of humanism, aesthetic education, and promotion of campus culture. It aims to help the young people establish the correct aesthetic value system, and calls for the youth to pursue aesthetic existence in their daily lives.
