Intellectuals and the cause of the party are closely combined. The intellectual policy is an important component of the Party's policies. Mao Zedong Intellectual Theory laid a foundation and made a great contribution for the CCP to manage to cope with the intellectual issue, but still there were some mistakes. Deng Xiaoping Intellectual Ideology rectified the deviation of that of Mao Zedong on the basis of the inheritance of the correct standpoints of policies on intellectuals of Mao Zedong; besides, the latter gave great and new supplement and development to the former. Similarly, Jiang Zemin, the leading core of the third generation of CCP, who advanced with the times and blazed new trails, made a significant contribution to China's strategy of rejuvenating the country through science, education and personnel power on the basis of the inheritance and development of Deng Xiaoping Intellectual Ideology. To look into the new era, our party does need to properly handle the issues of intellectuals, and intellectuals should realize self-education and self-management. The role of intellectuals in the socialist modernization still leaves a lot to be desired.The whole essay falls into five parts. The first part is the preface. The next three parts are arranged by the time sequence; respectively recall the content and features of the intellectual ideology of the Three Leading Cores, and try to give personal evaluation based on the above discussion. Part V discusses some of the problems of intellectuals and policy on intellectuals in the new era, and tries to offer corresponding counter measures. The last part is the conclusion.
