Police is a pressure-intensive occupation, but there is not much of normative study of police occupational pressure and little research instrumentation. This research, on the basis of documentary analysis and investigation, devices the measurement instrument for police occupational pressure and studies as well as measures the pressure. Certain studies have indicated that police personnel work under intense pressure, which has produced serious effects on their work and lives. The advantages and disadvantages from occupational pressure of police work depend on how police personnel handle the pressure, to which different contermeasures lead to different results. In preceeding studies, subjective well-being were seldom involved among the indicators of coping style. Therefore, this research focues on the subjective well-being.Makeing use of a questionary concerning police occupational pressure, this research collects data of coping style and subjective well-being by means of questionanes concerning coping style and subjective well-being scale. With analysing the pressure, coping style and subjective well-being on the parts of different police groups, this research adheres to the conceptional model of "cause-medium-response", integrates all the aspects of pressure, coping and subjective sense of well-being and constitute a relation model of the three aspects. This research has reached the following conclusions:1. Police occupational pressure is constitued by the pressure from the work perse, that from the fundation of work and that from management. On this basis, the questionary has good reliability and validity.2. Police personnel work under intense occupational pressure. The degree of pressure varies significantly with various factors such as duty, rank and education background and etc. 3. In general, response measure on the parts of police personnel does not manifest significant differences while the factors of duty and education indicate evident differences in the resortation to negative and passive coping style.4. The pressure and coping style mutually interact; with different coping styles the pressure varies.5. The subjective sense of well-being of police and occupational pressure manifest significant negative correlation, the worse the pressure, the less the subjective well-being.6. Response measures on the parts of police personnel are different and subjective well-beings.7. Police occupational pressure can both directly affect the sense of well-being and indirectly affect it through response measures.
