National question is a complex and sensitive problem. As to multi-nationality countries, handling the national question good or bad is directly related to the stability of society and survivor or perish of regime. China and Soviet Union are both multi-nationality countries. The Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Soviet Union are both the parties guided by Marxism. They have common and specific properties on dealing with national question. Lenin inherited the Marxism nationality theory and explained the national self-determination right theory further, and took it as one of the basic methods of dealing with national question. The Soviet Union's leaders after Lenin also inherited this theory. However, owing to Soviet Union's ossified political system, the national theory did not keep pace with the time. The recognition of national question moved from one extreme to another. In the end, as the fuse of the eruption of national question, Soviet Union finally disintegrated. In coping with national question, the Communist Party of China inherited the nationality theory of Marxism and Leninism. Meanwhile, it made a concrete analysis of a concrete problem and discarded the national self-determination right theory in practice. According to China's reality, it opened a way of national regional autonomy creatively, while made our nationality tasks present a picture of prosperity. National regional autonomy is the inheritance and development to the national self-determination theory and it has a full-understanding of national self-determination theory, which has extraordinary inspiration of our dealing with national question correctly, maintaining and consummating national regional autonomy system.
