Philosophical Thinking On Traditional Harmonious Concept And Socialism Harmonious Society Construction

On September 19^th, 2004, CPC officially put forward a historical target of the building of a socialist harmonious society in the Fourth Plenary Session of the 16^th Central Committee of the CPC. It is clearly pointed out in the report of the newly convened 17^th People's Representative Congress that, "Harmonious society need to built by all social people. We would fully depend on people, and bring every positive factor into play, trying our best to make a lively situation with social harmony, that every one contains responsibility and shares a harmonious city". The process of building a socialist harmonious society is a process of transition from traditional society to modern society, and a deep reform of multi-level and multi-direction of whole society. It is not only to reform economic, political and cultural systems, but also to change the mode of thinking and value of concept. Traditional culture can provide good idea for solving all kinds of contradictions and problems, where the thinking of social harmony is the important thinking resource of our construction of socialist harmonious society. Though traditional concept of harmony can not give us well-prepared answers to build socialist harmonious society, it can give us a historical wisdom and referential value for practical use. The one of important reasons that Confucian culture, as for major Chinese traditional culture can be passed down from generation to generation for 2000 years in China, and even effect other countries and places in the world, is because of its compatibility, flexibility and filtration force. "Today's China is the development of historic China; we are the historicist of Marxism, and we must not separate from history. From Confucius to Sun Zhongshan, we would conclude and inherit it".
