A Research On The Gratification Of Modern Farmers' Cultural Life

China's opening and reform policy launched in the 1970s has brought about drastic changes in the vast rural areas which can be evidently seen from the solid fact that peasants'living standard is greatly improved, both materially and spiritually, in the transformation from a traditional society to a modern society. However, we should bear in mind the reality that peasants'material life is not developing in pace with their cultural life for various reasons, historical or realistic, as one expert pointed out that the latter lags behind the former by five to eight years. Given the fact that social consciousness and social entity are closely correlated, effective measures should be taken to improve peasants'cultural life. Otherwise, the disharmony will have an ill influence on our building a new socialist countryside, and the construction of a material civilization will lose its mental support and moral foundation. The present thesis is carried out on the past research fruit and a detailed study on peasants'cultural gratification---one important aspect in the construction of cultural civilization. Therefore, this thesis is of great academic significance in attracting public concern on improving peasants'cultural gratification, in promoting a cultural booming in the vast countryside and in building a new socialist countryside.Based on our party's relevant theories on the construction of cultural civilization and the past academic research on living gratification, this thesis explores the topic---peasants'cultural gratification, from two main aspects. One is about their moral gratification, and the other is about that in their education, science, culture and health. The two aspects are further divided into ten separate levels which relate on peasants'cultural gratification from the perspective of social credibility, morality, social justice, equality, happiness, education, agricultural technology, entertainment, medical care, and sports activities. Having achieved a full understanding of the present situation of peasants'cultural gratification, this thesis offers a detailed analysis to the resulting causes and suggests possible corresponding solutions to promoting peasants'cultural gratification from a new, practical and systematic perspective which is of great theoretical significance and practical value...
