Discussion On College Students For Nationalities' Rights Protection

"Chunk management"has long been practiced in Chinese colleges and universities, which has cultivated a lot of talents specialize in different areas. But in chinese college and university, especially university for nationalities, problems concerning students rights and maintainance of individual characteristics of different nationalities still exists. The research in this area in academics has been quite scarce. The present paper explores rights of the university students in university for nationalities, and attempts to construct a framework to ptotect the right of students in university for nationalities. This paper includes the following five parts:The first chapter defined the meanings of college students'rights. College students have dual identity, their rights can be divided into substantive rights which include the right to education, democratic rights, the right to safeguard themselves and properties, cultural rights and the right to choose life style. Subsequently, this part points out the university student's right and its rational maintenance. Only all these students'rights be maintained rationally, can we realize the purpose of university education and improve students'moral cognition, thus can build a harmonization atmosphere which the harmonious campus must be.According to the division of college students'rights, the second chapter analyzed current situation and reasons of the university student's right. The results show that there exist two kinds of attitudes and practices: one emphasize the authority of university and college but ignore the subjectivity of student and its leagal rights, especially the minority university students'unique culture, living habits in universities for nationalities, which caused the lack of students'right; the other is that the university administrators loose the management of students and give them excessive rights, which result the over claiming and maintenance. This paper holds that there are five primary reasons made the right of college students being absent: the traditional education concept puts more attention on dignity of teacher than principal status of students; unsoundness of current laws and rules; the Deficiency of higher education system; the Defect of management in high schools and negative attitude towards right by college students. About the claim of excessive on college students right, the formation of education cost sharing system, the transformation of college studentsconstruction, all of them formed a irrational way to protect their rights.The third part further studied the right actuality and cause of university student's rights in universities for nationalities.The fourth chapter mainly compared the particularity and commonness of rights between university for nationalities and general universities and colleges.Part Five: The core of this paper expounds major measures to realize college students right rational maintenance. Conclusively, to emphasize respecting and maintaining college students right, avoid disregard and invasion of right, and improve the consciousness of protecting self right. Also, we should emphasize respecting the limits and objective condition of right achievement to prevent right excessive claim and maintenance, at the same time, do not make the right becoming universal reasons for everyone.
