India and Japan, two Asian great powers which have the potential to be world big powers, influencing modern international relations more and more deeply. Based on the consideration of respective understanding about international system and strategic requirements, more and more frequent communication appears between the two countries. The future of the relations between the two countries is very important to the international system and also the security of surrounding areas. Furthermore, as China's two important neighbors, the cooperation and mutual communication between India and Japan also have a great impact on China.This paper analyzes the development in each period and explains the factors of the USA, China and other exterior factors which influence the relations between the two countries according to their strategic purposes and diplomatic choices after cold war in a venation of time. Simultaneously the future of the mutual relations will be doped out deeply too. Basing on that, this paper will point out that China should keep precaution towards the intention contained in the progress of relations between India and Japan, and try to discuss about the possibility of the triangular relations among China, India and Japan.
