India's strategy for Africa involves a comprehensive political, economic, security and social relationship between India and Africa.Although the relationship is complex,it is not confusing and clearly has the logic of interest-determining strategy. It is worth noting that the national interests here do not only refer to narrow material interests, but also include value pursuits and identity interactions.India's interest in Africa have evolved from the value pursuits during the Nehru period to the current material interests, accompanying with India's strong desire to interact as a big country. It is because of such a change in the pattern of interests that India's strategy for Africa after its independence has a clear historical development path: from the firm political unity on the Nehru period, gradually shifting to a full-scale diplomatic strategy centered on economic interests. It is also in accordance with the above understanding of national interests, this thesis divides the interests of India in Africa in the 21 st century into:(1)pursuing the status of a big country;(2)chasing energy and the market.Based on the above Indian interests in Africa, this thesis specifically analyzes India's diplomacy to Africa and the economic relations between India and Africa Through analysis, this thesis believes that India's strategy for Africa will strategically strengthen cooperation on diplomacy, energy, aid and security on the basis of the existing one.
