Study On Indinesian Chinese Entering The Mainstream Of Society

A ethnic violence event towards Indonesian Chinese happened in Djakarta during May 1998.With the end of Soeharteo's regime,the government of Indonesia carry through democratic reform ,abolish much the discriminated policy and statute toward Indonesian Chinese, Indonesian Chinese organize political parties and mass's organization,found Chinese media, participate in politics and maintenance ethnic rights and interests of Indonesian Chinese,strengthen intercourse with aboriginal,enter the mainstream of society actively.From1998 to 2004,political situation was disordered comparatively, the discriminated policy and statute toward Indonesian Chinese which has already abolisheded was still implemented. In 2004,after accession of the sixth president, Susilio Bambang Yudboyono,government continued to carry on steady democratic reform, devoted in the economical restoration and the development, the Indonesian political situation enters the relative stabilization period, under Indonesian Chinese people's impetus, the Indonesian government and parliament continued to reform the policy toward Indonesian Chinese, in 2006,the parliament passed law of new nationality ,new policy and statute toward Indonesian Chinese was carryed out gradually. Indonesian Chinese also more actively take part in the rebuilding of disaster area and the almsgiving toward victims of a natural calamity through league,participate in local and central election positively.At the present time, the Indonesian Chinese enter the mianstream of society be still face many disadvantage factors . The problem of Indonesian Chinese cannot only solve from the race angle, must jump out limitation of concrete benefit for Indonesian Chinese, through the Indonesian society's reconstruction and the construction harmonious Indonesia.
