International peacekeeping operations are an effective means of conflict management in war-tom areas historically.In the post-Cold War era,peacekeeping operations on a global and regional basis have been a significant approach to conflict resolution.The dissertation endeavors to have a discussion on the jurisprudential basis,attributes,functions and types of international peacekeeping operations.It also gives explanation to China's participation and contribution to international peacekeeping operations with the involvement of a case study on Chinese blue helmets in Darfur.Interpretation of China's peacekeeping practice in relation with the transition of China's diplomacy in the new era is embraced in discussion as well.The end of the dissertation puts a summary all the international peacekeeping operations in practice,and witnesses the prospects of them and China's participation and contribution in the near future.
