An Investigation On The Personality And Mental Health Of Adult Male Prisoners In Lunan Prison

Research ObjectiveTo analyze the situation of personality characteristics and psychological health of the adult male prisoners in Lunan Prison,and the factors and the relationship between personality and mental health to identify risk factors related crimes.To provide a basis for preventive and corrective criminal acts.Research Subjects and MethodsUsed cluster sampling method for the district supervisor unit,1305 male inmates serving sentences in Lunan Prison was selected.Groups using their own methods of testing to fill in EPQ,SCL-90 questionnaire,we used the result of EPQ,SCL-90 to investigate inmates in custody personality and mental health. 1230 responses were valid and effective response rate was 94.25 percent.By a national norm for men of EPQ,SCL-90 questionnaire in order to control,we cauld evaluate the personality characteristics of criminals and mental health.Used Excel database.Analysis software used psychological analysis of the questionnaire procedure,SPSS10.0 version of the package,and other statistics.Results1.the result of EPQThe subjects of study age between 18～72 years old,and the average age is for 34.32±11.14 years old.Compared with the national norm,the male inmates serving a prison sentence personnel in the energetic nature(P),the introversionextroversion (E),nervous(N),conceal the nature(L) the personality dimension difference to have statistics significance.Demonstrated its basic personality characteristic for the extroversion unstable,high nervous,the high energetic nature,conceals the nature lowly.The disparity in age section,the different marital status serve a prison sentence criminal's to have statistics significance in L personality dimension difference. The different years of schooling serve a prison sentence criminal's to have statistics significance in P dimension difference(P＜0.01).Compared with each other found that the group of illiterate and the Primary,Junior Secondary and high schools and over group differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05),and P dimension of higher education as the score decreases.The first offense and the
