The Localization Of Psychological Treatment For Offender

The psychological treatment for offender, as a new rehabilitation method introduced into the Chinese jail system, only has a history of 20 years. There has been a wide variety of understanding in academic and practical cycles of its concept. I studied the related literature in and out of China, combined with the characteristics and practical work of rehabilitation in China, and concluded the definition of psychological treatment for offenders: Psychological treatment workers of prison applying psychological principles and methods, through mental health education, psychological measurement, psychological counseling, psychological treatment and other methods to improve the mental health of offenders, and to help them eliminate adverse psychological and other psychological disorder. Furthermore, it is a rehabilitation method to perfect offender's personality. The author believes that in the process of absorbing the advanced theory and methods from Western countries, we should consider political systems, cultural backgrounds and personalities of difference between China and the West, combining the experience of rehabilitation and the reality of China, construct the system suitable for China. Only in this way, it is possible to localizing psychological treatment for offender. In the 100-year history of psychological treatment for offender in Western countries, with another source of ideas, religious thought, criminologists, psychologists and psychiatrists have made great contributions to its origin and development. The history of China's ideological indoctrination of offender can be traced back to the Western Zhou Dynasty period, but it was not until August 1981 the new China held the eighth meeting of reform-through-labor work, the first time made clear: the prison must set up research and psychology of criminals to promote the rehabilitation of offenders. The psychological treatment for offender, reflecting the Chinese civilization and humanity in jail, in China's prison is not only adapt to actual needs in new changes and rehabilitation, but also to convergence needs to promote China's prison system and international system of universal execution.However, in the process of localization of psychological treatment for offender people have encountered problems, such as awareness and positioning of psychological treatment for offender, standard team work and specialization, and violations of the rights of criminals in psychological treatment. The author believes that in order to fundamentally solve these problems, efforts should be made to build localization model of psychological treatment for offender, and, at the same time, updated concept of objectives, legislative system improvement, operation mechanism regulation, and other areas to build this model of the system deserves more discussion. Recently, China conducted a series of reform and innovation in prison system, and some provinces also build a system of quality assessment of rehabilitation. In the experiment, a lot of advanced psychological assessment and various psychological measurement scales as means of quantitative analysis are introduced from Western countries; at the same time China's traditional ideological education and day-to-day assessment are summed up as a method of qualitative analysis tools. The combination of quantitative and qualitative measurement methods can effectively mobilize and guide the rehabilitation, and improve the quality of rehabilitation. Quality assessment system of rehabilitation can be said as a preliminary result of localization of psychological treatment for offender technology.In this paper, I will take the literature survey and empirical investigation as main method. Through serious study on domestic and international literature, understanding the current status of psychological treatment for offender; For an in-depth understanding of the actual situation of China's psychological treatment for offender, people have adopted various methods of empirical investigation, including the inspection of prison psychological treatment, the direct discussion with therapist and surveys (the questionnaires for therapist and for criminals). The whole writing process adheres to both speculative and empirical considerations. In this paper, the first part focuses on basic concepts and the thought source of psychological treatment for offender; latter part of psychological treatment for offender concerns about the process of localization in the face of reality, as well as building of localization model, and Emphasizes empirical analysis, the usage of a number of survey data, an representative working paper to set out in an appendix to convince.
