It's essential for us to realise and research the fundamental realities of the country, whether it's in the period of war or in the period of the development of the socialist modernization. Because it's important for the CPC to work out the correct route and policy. Also it's important to build the socialism with Chinese characteristics and to achieve the ultimate goal of our country. At the same time, only we get a proper understanding of the fundamental realities of the country, can we better understand the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. So it requests us to investigate and study the fundamental realities of the country with the changing,developing and related perspective. It must be objective.Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, it took the CPC a long time to know the fundamental realities of the country. It's more clear and with objective reality for the CPC to know the fundamental realities of the country from the founding of new China to the completement of the socialist transformation. The Eighth National Congress Meeting of the CPC analyzed the domestic and foreign situations and the change of the domestic principal contradiction. And according to the main contradiction, we formulated the main task of our party and the whole nation. It's the clear understanding of the fundamental realities of the country and the correct grasp of the social principal contradiction.However, the CPC began to deviate from the reality. At last, we denied the scientific thesis of the principal contradiction in the Eighth National Congress Meeting and formulated a series of policies which divorced from the reality. It caused the great losses for the party and the country. The General Line, the Great Leap Forward Movement and the People's Movement interacted. It not only brought the negative influence to the economic development and other work, but also caused our party emerging the overall importance fault. Finally it caused "the Great Cultural Revolution"for ten years. So in this period our party can't know the fundamental realities of the country comprehensively. Although there were some correct factors, it was wrong in general because of the deviation from the objective reality.Since the Third Plenary Session of the CPC Eleventh Central Committee, our party insisted that we should unify the Marxism's general principle with China's concrete reality, proceeding from reality in everything, seeking truth from facts. We made the correct understanding and the judgment of today's national conditions and characteristics of the times. Now we are in the primary stage of socialism. This is the fundamental realities of our country. And the main contradiction is the material culture which the people need day by day with the backward social product between contradiction. In order to solve this contradiction, we must treat the economic development as the center, developing social productive forces. Also, this kind of understanding deepens with the development of the reality. According to the correct judgement, the policies of our party is objective. Also it leads China's socialist construction to the worldwide attention. China's socialist modernization enters a new historical period.Reviewing and analyzing the Party's understanding on the fundamental realities of the country since the foundation of the CPC, it's offered us the useful revelation . We must seriously study the scientific concept of development and build a harmonious socialist society. In order to make the right analysis and judgment we must proceed from reality , seek truth from facts, and guard against wrong tendencies.
