Ideological and political education has always been unique good tradition of our military and political advantages and the essential requirement, the Party's constant thought of building and running the army, and the thinking base of our army's survival and development. So research on it is an especially important problem in a direct bearing on the overall situation of long-term development of the army. For decades our country has undergone enormous changes, the reform of the depth of change people's lifestyles, ways of thinking and values, breadth of Opening up makes West's political ideas, values and way of life gradually penetrate into our life. In the new period, resting on its laurels the old-fashioned wooden rigid and the psychological ideas will lead to the negative effects of "path-dependence", which would make difficult political job there hard to breakthrough, but also bring incalculable harm to the development of construction of the troops.The problems of the army's ideological and political education are objective existence. This text firstly discoursed the connotation of the army's ideological and political education, including the significance of strengthening the army's ideological and political education, the fundamental mission and the basic content of education, it also expressed the generality and specificity of the army's ideological and political education, and it discoursed the basic theory of the "path-dependence", that is, the origin and mechanism of the theory. And the definition of the path-depends of army's ideological and political education, to reveal how the path dependence put the impact into ideological and political education, and it discoursed the necessity and feasibility of the study on the army's ideological and political education with path-dependency theory. Secondly, according to the research and report on the spot, it introduced the current reality of army's ideological and political education. In this section, the research analysis is a true reflection of the current status of the officers and men of thought and the ideological and political education of the true effect of the main problems and made a summary of the main are the following aspects: the lack of the spirit of the times in education concept, theories are separate from the actual needs. Educational methods are obsolete and lack of attractiveness, four, of the overall educators' quality of construction are lagging behind the needs of social development and army growth. Thirdly, it discoursed the existence of path-dependent phenomenon in army's ideological and political education, whose root causes the army's ideological and political education was tied at the established model, difficult to break through, and conflict the development of the objective reality. The path-dependent in army's ideological and political education is mainly from four aspects: the traditional culture, management style, theoretical system, the values. This part discussed them separately. At last, around how to break through negative impact of path-dependence and get rid off the shackles and promote the army's ideological and political education, some countermeasure was given to probe.
