This article systematically analyzes U.S.environmental diplomacy in George W. Bush administration.The first part expounds the evolution of American environmental diplomacy and analyzes its motives,followed by the significant change of Bush administration's environmental diplomacy.During this period,the Bush Administration announced its withdrawal from the 'Kyoto Protocol',and put forward an alternative to the 'Kyoto Protocol' to re-identify new research priorities,adjusting the position of environmental policy in the national security strategy.The third part focuses on George W.Bush administration's diplomatic practice on environment,which discusses the Bush Administration's performance on the General Assembly on climate change of the United Nations in the past and the American environmental diplomatic policy and practice with China,the European Union and other parts of the world.This article also summarizes the characteristics and substance of environmental diplomacy in George W.Bush administration,and analyzes national interests and economic factors of environmental diplomacy in the United States,the political position of environmental policy implementation,the injustices of environmental cooperation,as well as the hegemony of environmental policies.Finally,this paper gives an analysis of the influence of environmental foreign policy in Bush administration at home and abroad.
