Villagers' Participation In Rural Communities

Villagers' participation is an important performance of grassroots democracy. As an independent political, social activity, the motives and methods of the villagers' participation are great variety. The main form contains the system of village autonomy, inner-party democratic system, democratic management system of enterprises, democracy activist of cluster organizations, requirements and standards of rural communities and so on, in addition to the above form, there are some other forms of participation, for example, vote activities, contact events, conferences participation, complaint letter, proceedings, acts to resist and so on. From the motivation point of view, someone in order to safeguard the collective interests that can be regarded as "public participation", the participation of others is "private participation" behavior that based on self-interest. A large number of villagers' participation is caused by the vital interests of the villagers. The content of participation of villagers contains not only political participation, but also non-political participation. At the same time, as the flow of personnel, the main body of participation is also not limited to the census register villager in the village. An increasing number of foreign personnel take part in the village life and production and continue to become a member of villagers' participation.In this paper is based on field visits of a village in Hubei province, by understanding the status quo of the villagers' participation, the main body of the villagers' participation is divided into three types, which are in-service cadres, society capable and ordinary villagers, analysis of the motives of their participation, methods and the impact of factors of participation. The article has a judgment: "in the village cases, the main form of Villagers' participation is the mobilization of participation, private interests is the motivation, low level of participation in organizations." Finally, the article put forward some views on how to further promote the villagers' participation.
