Since the ancient times, Chinese are famous for their good habit and tradition to abide the ethics. Of course, when the world evolves, it is natural that the ethics is updated and enriched too, that is to say, each times has its own ethics which is adaptable to the special civilization, but the essence of the ethics is always being kept and carried forward by the human being throughout the world. In our country, the establishment of socialism system is also makes the constitution and the spread of the ideal ethics type in our land much easier.The social morality and ethics level in China are improved very much in these years; however, they are still behind the evolution of the time. As the social transforming and the economic developing, the carrion ideas such as money worship, gastronomy, individualism and egoism also come in a continuous stream, and let the moral decline. The socialism modernization project need a harmony and civilized living system, so it is imperative for us to cultivate the social morality and construct the modern consciousness of ethics.Social morality is communal criterion, and it is very important because it is the key idea to the conformity of social structure, the ethical principle orientation and the basic code of conduct, the social ethics and value system, etc. while the evolution of history invest various connotations in social morality and value alternation, so it can produce great effect on the formation of social morality and ethics. Thus, in order to cultivate modern consciousness of ethics, establish a harmonious society and enhance spiritual civilization, we must do something at the very beginning. We should realize why social morality and ethics come into being, both in theory and in reality, we should realize the true puzzle of modern social morality. Also, we must let people know the importance of establishing social morality, and urge them to create conditions actively for the perfection of social morality.
