A Study On Care For Returned Overseas Chinese And Their Relatives' Lives In Shanghai

The returned overseas Chinese and their relatives is a special group of Chinese citizens.Li Haifeng,who is the director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council,clearly pointed that we should strengthen the aids and support to the returned overseas Chinese and their relatives who are in difficulties,so they can share the fruits of reform and development,in February of 2008 in the national conference of the overseas Chinese Affairs.She also put forward that we will vigorously implement the project Care for overseas Chinese and their relatives,and made it to be an important means to improve the returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives.Compared with the studies on Overseas Chinese,the studies on returned overseas Chinese and their relatives are much less,especially the studies on the problems of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives.This paper mainly studies the group of the returned overseas Chinese and their relatives who are in difficulties.In the basis of deeply developing two survey databases which respectively investigated all returned overseas Chinese and their relatives in 2004 in Shanghai and those returned overseas Chinese who returned China during 1996 to 2005and other survey databases,this paper summarizes the basic characters of the groups of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives,who are in different kind of difficulties,and then analyzes their need of care.Then this paper tries to summarize how to implement the care of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives.This paper includes the following several parts:·Summarize the main achievement that Shanghai had made to care returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives;·Analyze the basic characters of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives and their care need;·Introduce other provinces' experience in caring returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives;·Simply appraise the work of caring returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives of Shanghai; ·Discuss deeply how to advance the work to care returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives in Shanghai.And there is some innovation:·Particularly analyze the returned overseas Chinese and their relatives who are poor,sick,old,or out of job.·Expound the main characters that the returned overseas Chinese and their relatives who are in difficulties in Shanghai;·Put forward some practical suggestions to further advance the work to care returned overseas Chinese and their relatives' lives in Shanghai.
