| In addition to the leading promotion of the central and border governments,private resources are also an important force that cannot be ignored in cross-border economic cooperation in border areas.This paper takes the Dongxing City of Guangxi and China as the survey site,Collect data by in-depth interviews,and analyzes how the returned overseas Chinese and their relatives,who are special civil powers in the border areas,use their advantages to participate the cross-border economic cooperation between China and Vietnam and play their special role.The study founds that resources such as trust contained in the network of transnational social relations of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives can effectively overcome market risks and reduce transaction costs,so that returned overseas Chinese and their relatives maintain a competitive advantage in the lack of trust but necessary cross-border economic cooperation.The funds,information,customers and other resources contained in the social relationship network are important resources for participating in market transactions.In the cross-border economic cooperation,returned overseas Chinese and their relatives seize the opportunities and maintain competitive advantage by mobilizing these resources.Therefore,the return of overseas Chinese and their relatives as a civil force is an effective complement to the government’s strength.Returned overseas Chinese and their relatives participate in cross-border economic cooperation mainly through their transnational social network.In the cross-border economic cooperation,in addition to the design and promotion of the central government and local government,civil power is also an important force that cannot be ignored. |
