Research On The Military Garrison Of The Warring States Period

The Warring States Period is the critical time of innovation and development in the history of China. At the time of the long-term wars, every feudatory states pay attention to military affairs gradually in order to end chaos of the wars and separatist regimes, make China unify at last. Based on garrison for research object, combining with the data of bamboo slips ,ancient Chinese books and recorded documents, this article emphasizes on the research of three sides which are the conscription and dispatch of armies about the garrison of military, the military supplies and logistic support, and military fortifications as well as facilities of defense, based on the historical background which the nature and the way of war having great changes during Spring-Autumn and the Warring States Period. In order to win in the annexation territory wars, feudatory states construct the all-round defense system which is rigorous and intact ,making the rich military theory combine with the practice of war closely. Making full use of research achievements that have had in the academic circles, this paper systematically induces the information about military garrison during the Warring States period, by using the research way of special, comprehensive and individual case. This paper makes up for the lack of related problems, and also fills the gaps in this field in the academic circles.
