Because of the implementation of the "Third way", the American economy began to prosper again. There are three parts in the main body. The first part focuses on the historical background of the "Third way". Firstly, the international situation was different. The Cold War between the two comps ended, and the economic globalization strengthened as a result. Secondly, "Reagan's economics" was not right for America's economy any more, and the benefit system was had to be improved. All these resulted in the shrink of the domestic economy. As the new president, Clinton adjusted the development strategy timely and had a new course------the "Third way" at last. The second part elaborates on the contents of the "Third way". They are financial policies, currency policies scientific and education policies, as well as benefit policies. The third part evaluates Clinton's "Third way". The dissertation sets eyes both on the impact and significance, as well as the defects of the "Third way".
