The North Korea nuclear crisis is a worldwide issue which is rooted in the distrust between the United States and the North Korea. The six-party talks attempt to solve this nuclear issue through multilateral negotiations. In general, the six-party talks have contributed a lot in staffing off this nuclear crisis and provided precious crisis management experience and references for the Northeastern Asia and even the whole world. Although it achieved somewhat consensus and an agreement on the consultation mechanism during the past seven rounds of talks, North Korea nuclear weapon issue has not been thoroughly solved. There are many restrictions existing and the six-party talks cannot function well. It is not only a problem between the United States and North Korea, but also a national issue that should be concerned by countries including China.How to solve the crisis directly affects the peace and stability of Korea as well as the security in Northeastern Asia. This paper focuses on the solution model to the North Korea nuclear crisis based on the six-party talks. In the paper, the writer reviews the historical reasons and development of the North Korea nuclear crisis, summarizes the periodical achievements of the six-party talks, analyzes the difficulties that the six-party talks are confronted, and proposes strategic alternative solutions to the North Korea nuclear crisis.This paper contains four parts:The first section is introduction which discusses the significance of the study and provides a literature review of the study on the very topic at home and abroad.The second section introduces the origins and development of the North Korea nuclear crisis. It analyzes the reasons of this issue from the North Korea's point of view in politics, economy and diplomacy and from the American point of view in national security and benefits, its containment policy toward North Korea and its Eastern Asia strategies. Besides, in this part, the writer also presents the backgrounds, origins and processes of the three nuclear crises.The third section deals with the difficulties that the six-party talks are confronted. This is the core of the whole paper. At the beginning of this part, it concludes the periodical achievements that the six-party talks have accomplished, and then analyzes the main difficulties and problems the six-party talks are facing, including the intense Korea peninsula situation, the huge discrepancy between the two countries and the diplomatic limitations.The last section of the paper discusses the alternative solutions to the North Korea nuclear crisis. From an international political sense, the solution of this issue should be based on the equilibrium balance security theory, the community security theory and the cooperative security theory. In this part, the writer explains the three theories and states proposed solutions accordingly. The paper discusses the solutions in four main aspects including the construction of community security, the improvement of the relationships between the North and the South Korea, the acceleration of the political and economic cooperation in the northeastern Asia area, and obtaining the promise of nuclear-free zone by surrendering some benefits.
