Abstract/Summary:
As the biggest trading partner with China, the European Union frequently initiates anti-dumping investigations on Chinese products during the process of trading with China in order to protect the interests of member states. This paper takes EU imposing anti-dumping taxes on Chinese leather shoes as an example. Furthermore, under the circumstances of the European Union continuous prolong punitive taxes on imports of Chinese shoes for 15 months and China has warned the EU on the WTO and launched WTO dispute settlement proceedings to solve the disputes, this paper discuss the recognition of dumping of Chinese shoes explicitly under the EU anti-dumping regulation. Meanwhile, standing on Chinese stead, the writer raises the central issues under the WTO dispute settlement mechanism. Ultimately, the writer analyses reasons of EU initiating anti-dumping investigation on Chinese shoes and then puts forward several caution issues as well as measures to evade.
