The old saying said:"life is sacred." Homicide case has been the centre of all the cases, which is crucial to the most fundamental right, human rights to life, and concerns the human'most vital interest. The rate of case occurrence comprehensively reflects the public security situation of a country or region, the rate of case solving concentrate the work quality and efficiency of investigation organs and officers who perform their important duty to protect our families and country. To realize the strategic target of "homicide case should be solved", we must combine investigation and prevention, and both means have to be suppressed. In the new period, homicide case shows new features which need us summing up practical experiences of investigation and prevention and studying the concerned laws. It is meaningful in theory and practice.According to different standards there are different types of homicide case, each of which has different characteristics. Accordingly, the investigation and prevention strategies of homicide case are different. All levels of public security organs currently has set up a series of efficient mechanisms on leaders'responsibility, working ways, incentives, funds and so on. But the implementation of these mechanisms need concrete and effective measures including establishing a sound system of the survey, the study on the conference reports of investigation mechanisms, the work and implementation mechanism of investigation, and perfect the trial procedures to prevent the illegally or unreasonable method of gathering evidences.Fundamentally, homicide case investigation is a subsequent control of crime. To reduce homicide casein essence, it must be effectively combined with prevention before the precautions. The study on homicide case prevention still is a relatively new subject which needs not only castigating the urban crime, but also strengthening the rural security. We should pay attention to protect both legitimate rights of criminals or suspects and investigators, study homicide case prevention laws about adult crime as well as juvenile crime. The whole societies besides the police force are encouraged to take part in homicide case prevention which depends on not only the law measures but also the cultural experience learned from Japan and other countries. If we insist on the confidence and determination to prevent the homicide case, constantly review our explorations, the homicide case shall be reduced finally.Aiming at present study shortages or controversial issues of homicide case investigation and prevention, this paper raised the following important points:(1) medicolegal work should be closely integrated with scene investigation; (2) criminal investigation technology should be encouraged to decipher hide messages; (3) don't deny the secret investigation which should be used correctly; (4) pay attention to the psychological adjustment of investigators to prevent their death for too much pressures; (5) the investigation power including the police power should to be confirmed as not an administration power but a judicial power, which is to be respected for its independent; (6) the criminal age of teenagers shall be affirmed by actual investigation; (7) homicide case pretention can be realized by reducing criminal expect profits from the angle of the game analysis.
