The globalization of 1990s involves politics, economy, culture, society and so on. It influences our lives greatly, especially with the appearance of modern mechanics of communication; it pushes forward the progress of globalization greatly. It also influences our traditional social structure, ideology and money market and changed the conditions for the existence of national welfare system, making the welfare nations in danger. As the UK is one of typical welfare states. In this paper, the UK is the research object. In the face of the crisis of welfare nation, the British Prime Minister Tony Blair makes the "third way" welfare concept as the basis for the reform, for example, make some reforms in Medical care, unemployment, pension, and education and so on, and focus on the balance between efficiency and equity. He made from the traditional welfare state model to an investment-oriented state model. Blair's welfare reforms will help the development of our welfare system.Chapter one. Explaining the meaning of globalization and the power of localization development and the globalization debates among different factions. The idea of globalization has been widely accepted in 1990s, the development of communication technologies and the Internet promote it develop quickly. Multinational corporations and free markets become the driving force for the development of globalization. Different people have different views on it. So there are Super-Localism, skepticism and transformation theory of Marxism.Chapter two.
