On The Function Of Citizenship Identity To Civil Society's Development In China And Its Path Selection

In the past three decades of Reform and Opening, Chinese society has undergone enormous changes, and a relatively independent civil society is forming which has great impact on Chinese socio-economic development and democracy .In the process of development of civil society, the study of Citizenship has improved itself continuously. The realization of Citizenship for the construction and development of civil society also shows special functions. Exploration for the methods of Citizenship makes people can see bright future of civil society, good prospects, economic development, political reform, as well as cultural development and social progress in China.Based on the massive amount of researches of documents and materials, this paper means to dig out how a single citizen's development influences the social community's development and the significance of this influence, with the soul of a harmonious development of both the country and the society. Special attention has been paid to the combination of many researching methods so as to find out a more complete and fundamental analysis of the questions. Regarding to the methods, documents analysis method, comparative analysis method, logical deduction method, and history analysis method are used. This paper has four parts as followed.Part1: To introduce of the theory of the citizenship identity and the main composing elements of it. The citizenship identity is a new member of the politics family and the studies of it as a new field has not come to being until 1990s. From then on, researches by Chinese and overseas scholars has been pushing forward the studies of the citizenship identity.Part2: To sum up the influence of approving citizenship identity on China's civil society development. Based on the relations of the country, the society and the citizens, this paper means to find out how to better realize and protect the citizen's rights, how the citizen's single development pushes the development of the social community, and to find out the significance of approving the citizenship identity on the present development of civil society.Part3: To analyze the practical problems of approving the citizenship in China. Citizenship, after all, is a word from abroad, so, both the theoretical development and the practical development should take reference of the foreign experiences. To build China's citizenship theory must go with China's practical realities, and must completely analyze all the existing problems. Some of the problems are due to the economic development level and the economic system, and the others are because of the influence of traditional culture and ideology.Part4: To figure out the ways of approving the citizenship identity. Based on fundamental studies of various problems, taking references of western countries'experiences on building citizenship identity, and putting China's citizenship development into consideration, this paper offers a deep understanding on how to better realize the citizenship identity and provides constructive suggestions and workable development methods.All in all, civil society has become the model and the choice of all the countries now, the development of the citizens and the protection of their rights are the main contents of civil society, and the development of the citizenship identity will definitely helps the development of China's civil society development. Just like building the harmonious state-society relationship, it is not an easy job to approve the citizenship identity and needs our passive and long-term efforts.
