Humans have always pay close attention to and think of the problem “who am i” and “who we are”, in the era of globalization, they have become the question that every one of us must to answer. Under the background of globalization, self identity at the individual level and nation al identity at the n ational level have become increasingly prominent, the new identity in the emerging, the recognition of the old in the resurrection, the existing identity in change. Especially the issue of national identity is more com plex, both opportunities and challenges, and each coun try presents different problems. Therefore, it is very important to explore the problem of China national identity and its construction from the level of political philosophy.This paper explore the issue of nationa l identity of contemporary China from citizenship perspective, is mainly based on two conside rations: one is th e author found that the current academic circles on the China nationa l identity articles focused on culture identity, ethnic identity and the relationship between ethnic identity and national identity, for ex ploring the problem with m ultiple perspectives, I pondered whether we can from the perspectives of citizenship to discuss it,in order to be more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of contemporary China’s national identity. Second is china is in the process of political democratization, citizenship consciousness, citizen’s political participation consciousness and political rights awareness is growing, it is or will be to bring what kind of influence to Chinese national identity, whether we should take the p olitical identity as the core of national identity, if we admit that there is a potential crisis of national identity in China, so what is the main factor is most likely to threaten China’s national identity?The main content of this paper is divided into four chapters, in the first chapter, the author m ainly analyzes the connotati on and the relationship of citizenship and national identity from the basic theory. In the second chapter, the author th rough reviewing the developing process of Chinese national identity, that the main influence factors of Chinese na tional identity has two changes: from the cultu ral identity to national identity, from national identity to political identity. In the thir d chapter, the author from three aspects that the inadequate protection of the righ ts of citizens, the decline of political identity and cultural identity dilemma, multi-ethnic reality and the lag of national identity construc tion analyzes Chinese national identity. In the f ourth chapter, the author from the four as pects to thinking of how to improve the Chinese national identity.
