After the Cold War, with the variation of world pattern and the domestically political situation of Japan, Japan was confronted with an assortment of thoughts conflicting, in which the sponging up of Neo-nationalism attracted much more attention. Since the 1990s to now, the trend of Neo-nationalism has been more and more influential in no slight degree. The new zeitgeist advocates Japanese superiority to other nations covers the history of Invasion War, attempts to a mend peace constitution and seeks chances to be politically powerful nation. All these result in the prevalence of consevativism in Japanese political circles and especially the conservatives haven't taken steady policy related to Chinese and placed defenses against China everywhere. Above all, it is in a dire need of research and analysis of the characteristics of Neo-nationalism after Cold War and its influence on Sino-Japanese relation.The thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter 1– the preface, deals with the meaning of Japanese neo-nationalism so as to have a precise understanding of what Japanese neo-nationalism is from its fountainhead in terms of the analysis of the definition and characteristics of Japanese neo-nationalism. Chapter 2 is about an introduction of Japanese neo-nationalism. In the chapter it first generally depicts the historical source of Japanese neo-nationalism and then analyses the basic features of Japanese neo-nationalism and its manifestations which place a foundation of the following writing so as to have a better understanding of the representative Japanese neo-nationalism, Shintaro Ishihara. Chapter 3 from Shintaro Ishihara's point of view of Japanese neo-nationalism concentrates on the analysis of his attitudes to war and history and his diplomatic theory and the incident of Three Nations'People in order to understand the features of Japanese neo-nationalism and its manifestations and its influence on diplomacy through the brief introduction of the political experiences of Shintaro Ishihara's– the representative Japanese neo-nationalism. In the last chapter describes how to have a rational thinking of Sino-Japanese relationship under the influence of Japanese neo-nationalism through the analysis of the influence of the conservative thinking trend on Japanese neo-nationalism on Chinese and Japanese respectively. The author hopes to analyze the current international situation, have a further understanding of Japanese neo-nationalism and deal with the diplomatic issues between Chinese and Japanese positively so as to promote the normal development of the Sino-Japanese relationship.
