The Anti-Christian Movement in the 1920s had significant influence on the development of Christianity in China. The National Christian Council of China launched a campaign to promote the gospel cause in May 1929, which was also called "Five-Year Movement". The Christianizing the Home Movement is one part of tasks raised by Five-Year Movement. This paper tries to comb the origin, development, organization and the content of the Christianizing the Home Movement. Based on the theoretic structure of secularization and Christianization, this paper presents how the Christianizing the Home Movement dealt with the relationship between secularization and Christianization in its 20years'development and how the Christianizing the Home Movement coped with the challenge of nationalism. Take the Christianizing the Home Movement as an example, this paper hopes to illustrate the difficulties of the development of Christian in China.This paper includes six parts. The part of introduction mainly expounds the significance of the selected topic and the important materials used, simply reviews the previous research. Chapter one mainly discusses the context of the Christianizing the Home Movement. Anti-Christian movement, Indigenization movement and the family transformation in the Republic of China era promoted the rising of the Christianizing the Home Movement. Chapter two longitudinally states the 20 years'development history of the Christianizing the Home Movement and the problems it facing in different stages and presents the state of development in each stage. Chapter three anal sizes the organization and ways to carry out the Christianizing the Home Movement, laterally reads the whole movement. Chapter four examines the relationship between secularization and Christianization based on the factors of family marriage, ancestor worship and family education. Secularization is to promote Christianization better. Secularization is the way and Christianization is the aim. The problem is whether the Christian based on secularization could be accepted by Chinese people. The last part presents the cause of the falling of Christianizing the Home Movement. That is the thorough secularization hampers the realization of Christianization, but people can not survive without forgiving Christian. The primary reason why Chinese people could not accept it is the sinicization of the Christianizing the Home Movement and the challenge of nationalism.
