After a long history of development, British political party gradually formed a set of relatively mature system which played an important role in maintain the political stability in the UK. With British colonial expansion, the system has spread to many colonial countries, such as India. India has suffered nearly 200 years of British colonial rule. After independence, India inherited some policy of British colonial period which included parliamentary system and political party system. Then with India inherited and developed the political party system, what are the differences between British and India on political party system as well as what influence is brought to India political society by these differences? This thesis studied the differences between British and India on political party system through analysis the formation of British's and India's political party system as well as their characteristics.
