International migration is always a world-wide hot issue.Early in the second half of the 19th century, a large number of European immigrants migrated from Europe to the United States, particularly North America, these countries began their own internal migration research. After World War II,the size and number of immigrants have expanded, many countries have established immigration agency, and immigration research has made great achievements.Research focused on two levels:the system research and country studies.Present research is imbalance, such as within European countries, the research of Danish immigration is very poor.Chinese cross-border migration is an important component of international migration.Since 1978,Chinese government implemented the policies of reform and opening to the outside, there has been an influx of Chinese mainland people into European countries, especially, it is the biggest, longest and most widely migration influx. As early as 1902,the first group of Chinese had reached Denmark. But until now, research on Chinese immigrants in Denmark remains insufficient. This article is based on this research blank in the field of immigration, and regard Chinese immigrants who got into Denmark after the reform and opening up policy as research object, then explore the specific causes and channels of migration, finally make some predictions.Denmark is a country which has a long history of immigration for the Chinese, once created economic opportunities for the Chinese catering industry, a country with high rate of acceptance for refugees and a generous welfare, but it is not the preferred destination for Chinese immigrants at present.Obviously, the reason is that Chinese people choose the destination for emigration according to other factors, rather than the prospect of family reunification, political asylum and social benefits. Not all of the European countries have the same attractiveness. New immigrants from China to Denmark went mainly through the following channels:family reunification, labor migration, technology immigration, refugees and illegal immigration.Chinese immigrants are concentrated on the economic opportunities, since the Danish labor organization is very powerful, and has strict economic control;moreover, the Chinese restaurant industry tends to saturation,Danish labor-intensive enterprises have moved to the Baltic and other countries,so new immigrants from China begins to avoid Denmark for their emigration,They tend to choose a country that can afford high-wage jobs, can provide good economic prospects.Through the Danish case,we can see that immigrant destination is related to economic prospects and a certain type of immigration policy, these factors affect the global network of Chinese immigrants, not just border control and immigration policies. This article expects to explain some specific problems and will fill some research blanks through apply international migration theory to answer why Chinese immigrants choose Denmark, how they enter Demark and if these behaviors will continue. The article is divided into four parts:the first chapter will describe the background of international migration theory, introduce five mature theories and the research trend. The second chapter will propose the concept of Chinese new immigrants, and provides a brief history and current situation of Chinese in Denmark. The third chapter will give an analysis of channels and reasons of Chinese immigrants according statistical data, mainly channels include family reunification, labor migration, technology migration, refugees, and illegal immigrants.Chapter IV will summarize the above three chapters, then conclude the trend of Chinese immigrants. The Chinese immigrants choose a destination based on the job opportunities and the economic prospect,as Denmark have powerful labor unions, and Chinese restaurant tends to have no development space, then Chinese new immigrants began to avoid Denmark as a destination.
