| The debate of"problems and doctrines"which was the symbol of internal derivation of the united front of the New Culture Movement, is an important history during the May 4th Movement, and the first debate between Marxist and non-Marxist. From the perspective of chinese Marxism, the debate of"problems and doctrines"has important historical status in the process of the localization of Marxism in China. It is the starting point of logic in the process of the localization of Marxism in China.Firstly, the debate of"problems and doctrines"promoted Marxism widespread in Chinese society. Aimed at the phenomenon that Chinese academic circle was keen on empty talking various doctrines, the debate clarified problems and doctrines can not be separated, spread historical materialism,theory of class struggle and theory of surplus value in Marxism, eliminated kinds of misunderstanding on Marxism, provided theoretical premise for Chinese Marxism.Secondly, the debate of"problems and doctrines"propelled the intellectuals to choose and believe Marxism. The debate stated China which faces domestic strife and foreign aggression needs Marxism as its mind guns and follows the road of social revolution. The debate had significant influence in the intellectual and progressive organization, sped up the intellectual to turn as Marxism, promoted progressive organization to turn as Marxist revolutionary group, and prepared main force for the localization of Marxism in China.Thirdly, the debate of"problems and doctrines"proposed the project of combining Marxism with Chinese reality. The debate made it plain: socialist must research how to apply his ideal to his reality as soon as possible. The debate also demonstrated the necessity of combining Marxism with Chinese reality, explained the connotation of combining Marxism with Chinese reality, probed into the road of combining Marxism with Chinese reality, established ideological foundation for Chinese Marxism.
