On The Right To Food

In 2007, the world food day's theme is "the right to food", but the theoretical study on the right is very little, especially in many developing countries which such a right has not yet been fully guarantee , the case is more serious. Take China for example, the right to food is not a legal right, scientific research also less, it is popular in China and the practical need some time. The right to adequate food is included in right of proper living standard and has been widely accepted by international community. However, the right to adequate food is not fully developed. The right to food was threatened and damaging still exist, around the world, millions of people in poverty and hunger ,food safety problems often happens, food quality worrying. People ignore the right to food, and not take the right to food as basic human rights is a common phenomenon. Food is one of the basic conditions for the survival and development of human, based on the appeal of survival and development, with dignity to realize the right to food is essential for the man who called human, it deserves attention. In this paper, basic concepts for the right to food was reviewed, the development history of the right to food was reviewed, and the legislations about the right to food, and explains what is realized basically enough food. Analysis of the value of the right to food, theory prove the right to food is one of basic human rights. Introduced into the right to food,from the international level of the general theory to the problem of the right of food in China , discusses the right to food security concerns of the country, the necessity and the obligation to better achieve and safeguard the rights are proposed.
