Research On The Career Growth Stages And Their Influencing Factors Of Chinese Incumbent High-level Leading Cadres Of The Party And Government

This thesis analyzes demographic characteristics and professional experience's impact on their promotion by exploring the biographical data of the Chinese incumbent high-level leading cadres of the Party and government, and reveals the career growth stages and their influencing factors of Chinese incumbent high-level leading cadres of the Party and government.This paper aims to provide a moderate impetus for the healthy growth of the Chinese incumbent high-level leading cadres of the Party and government. At the same time, this research has an important significance in promoting the healthy growth of the leading cadres at all levels, and building a contingent of high-caliber leading cadres capable of adapting to the request of the socialist modernization.This thesis selects the leading cadres at the provincial and ministerial or above level as the research object, then takes the curriculum vitae with more comprehensive and coherent content of the 185 leading cadres as the study samples. Empirical analysis of this study was to use the event history analysis, and SPSS software was used for the data analysis. By statistically describing the characteristics of demography variable and the career growth, revealing the periodic characteristics in time of the career growth, and constructing three career growth logistic model of the adaptive phase, the accumulation phase and the maturity stage in their career growth period. Model's Hosmer and Lemeshow test revealed that the actual data and model fitting better.Comparing the model of different stages, it reflects that the demographic characteristics such as the year of birth, the specialities and subjects, are the main factors for the promotion in the adaptive phase. But along with career growth, the demographic characteristics's impact on the promotions gradually went weaken. Especially in the latter part of their career, the main factors which impact on the promotions turn to the professional growth experience, such as the type of work unit, the length of time in the same level and the times of lateral transfer.
