Research On The Constitution Of AKEL Amended At The 18^th National Party Congress

The 18th Congress of The Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL)was convened in Nicosia from 16 to 19 November in 1995。AKEL fully appreciated the phasic change of the whole international home and the problems that existed in the process of self-constructions of the Party,and amended the Constitution without delay. The amended Constitution made a new orientation more precisely for the development of the Party in the next period on the basis of further consolidating the guiding role of Marxism,and clearly pointed that the aim of all the work of the Party is to close the masses energetically,also in more detail put forward the goals should be realized by AKEL.In this thesis,through the research of AKEL's Constitution,I will analyze the background of the amendment and the main contents of the Constitution,and summarize some deep reason that AKEL became the ruling party,and offer some information to enhance the understanding of AKEL in the new period。Meanwhile,the thesis will compare the Constitution of AKEL with the CCP's. By comparing,based on the reality of construction of CCP,taking the essence,the thesis will offer some revelation on strengthening the self-construction of CCP and promoting the relation between China and Cyprus.
