| Sports science is a relatively independent and comprehensive academic system. It is a system subject groups to reveal the physical internal and external rules.The sports science study covers the natural sciences and humanities, social sciences and many other related fields. It plays an important role in the development of sports industry, the improvement of the elite sports, the enhancement of people's health. National Sports Commission held National Sports Science and Technology meeting in 1977, drafting the "1978-1985 National Sports Science and Technology Development Plan". Sports science and technology was included in the "1978-1985 National Science and Technology Development Planning", which was drawn up by the National Science and Technology Commission. In 1979, Sports Science and Technology Conference was held the second time, which focused on the establishment of research institutions and carry out scientific researches. The National Sports Science and Technology meeting said " The development of sports must rely on the revitalization of sports science and technology. Sports science and technology must be object-oriented the development of sports ". It is the prelude of developing sports with science and technology.This paper uses literature, content analysis, case studies, to analysis 3301 papers which was published in "Sports Science", the sports core journal and get following conclusions:1. The main force of sports research is in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, and several other rich provinces, especially in Beijing. There are nearly one third of writers from Beijing. The entire western region, which includes 11 provinces, only have 277 writers. The proportion was only 13.6%. It shows that there are only 4 writers from middle and western area by the analysis of papers which have high Frequency, and 19 other authors are from the eastern region, which Beijing area 15 of them, accounting for 65%. The study also found that our major sports power distributed in university. There are about 79% of authors from universities, including the Comprehensive universities and professional sports institutes.2. Physical Science and Technology in China focus on G80 and G812 since reform and opening up. The papers of G804 was the most in G80 and was about a half. In 80's,90's and 00's, sports research focused on different fields. G804 was always the main research field and has many fruits. G80-32 sports had a hith proportion in the 80's but it went down in 90's and the 21st century. And G808 had the same situation. It because the adjustment of sports strategy. In 1995, the "National Bodybuiding Outline" was held and people began to focus on the development of soceity sports.3. Physical collaboration in scientific research should be strengthened. The proportion of collaboration was lower than natural science journals. However, the proportion of collaboration of G819, G804, G87 was above 70%. The co-rate was increasing over time. It is more and more difficult for people to do sports research because the displines was overlapping now. And all this need researchers to do research together.4. "Sports Science" mark fund essays from 1991. The number of fund papers showed a rising trend, including provincial fund projects account for approximately half of the paper. The main fields are G80, G80-05, G804, G812, G807, G808, G852 and G861.5. Highly cited papers focused on the G807 and G812. But the technical and scientific research was little. On one had, it is because the quality of academic papers. On the other hand, there are less researchers in those field because they are very professional. In addition, the high citation frequency articles had 6 articles which did reviewed research and 7 articles which did survey research. Survey research are popular research method in sports science.6. Through the zero article, it showed that the proportion of zero cited papers was about 16.34%, including fund paper 47. And national foun paper 13, provincial fund paper 14. Part of the sports science and technology research results have not been recognized.
